When our founders started Spandan, they had no idea how vast the problems facing animals were. Over the years, we’ve rescued thousands — inspiring communities and creating hope, one life at a time.
We treat every animal with love and care, regardless of their condition or past.
We maintain honesty and openness in our actions, operations, and use of resources.
We inspire and involve people to be part of a larger movement for animal welfare.
We act with integrity to protect animal rights and welfare at every stage.
We believe in spreading awareness to build a kinder, more informed society.
Our volunteers and team are committed every day to making a lasting difference.
We started with just a few dedicated volunteers and a big heart for street dogs in West Bengal. Spandan began as a small initiative, rescuing dogs from the streets and providing emergency care.
With community support and dedicated volunteers, we expanded our network. Spandan began assisting with sterilization programs (ABC), feeding hundreds of dogs daily, and setting up temporary shelters.
We finally built a small yet permanent shelter for injured and abandoned dogs. This became a home of healing and love for many animals who had never experienced care before.
Today, Spandan is a government-registered NGO making a real impact through rescues, surgeries, awareness drives, and legal support for animal rights. We continue to be the voice for the voiceless.
